VMworld (San Francisco) 2009 is fast approaching (31st August – 3rd September 3rd at the Moscone Center ) and for all of you fortunate to be attending it is guaranteed to be an excellent way to further your knowledge around the VMware range of products, meet your peers and area experts as well as having an opportunity to workout and shed a few pounds by rushing between the popular sessions. 

The theme around this years San Francisco based VMworld is based around “transforming the datacenter and desktop into a flexible, reliable cloud infrastructure” and discovering the “best way to introduce more efficiency, control and choice to your organization”.

The catalogue containing details on the interesting line-up of sessions has been released and can be found on the VMworld site here.  Popular subject experts such as Duncan Epping, Scott Lowe, Steve Chambers and  Rick Scherer will be presenting sessions some of who along with Tom Howarth will also be heading up an ‘Ask the Experts’ panel.

For those of you, like myself, who cannot afford to attend there is an alternative (albeit not quite the same experience) in the form of a ‘VMworld Subscription’.  Costing US$699.00 per year this subscription will give you access to:

• Sessions and Labs via the VMworld Virtual Conference facility

You also receive a conference goodies bag and t-shirt (I’ve been afraid to use my VMworld Europe t-shirt after all the reports of it shrinking after being put through the wash).

If your based outside of the US and are thinking  of attending VMworld Europe 2010 as opposed to VMworld San Francisco 2009 then you may have to wait until September 2010 as there is rumour that starting next year VMworld Europe will run the week after the US based VMworld.  Read here at PlanetVM for more details.
