What better way to end VMworld 2009 (San Francisco) than with an ‘Ask the Experts’ session? If your not familiar with the ‘Ask the Experts’ format then imagine this – five VMware experts at the front of the room and you get to ask them any VMware related question you were looking for an answer to. Kind of simple, but very informative and highly entertaining at times. I guess the clue is in the name.
There were a couple of ‘Ask the Experts’ sessions during the entire VMworld event and as mentioned this was the final one which ran last thing on the final day (Thursday).
The experts in this session are some of the most knowledgeable and well known in VMware circles, they are (from left to right – when you watch the video):
- Rick Scherer (Moderator): VMwareTips *See TechHead interview here
- Tom Howarth: PlanetVM
- Scott Lowe: Blog *See TechHead interview here
- Chad Sakac: Virtual Geek
- Duncan Epping: Yellow Bricks
The entire session ran for about 1 hour and 20 minutes so get yourself a cup of tea/coffee/juice (delete where applicable) and make yourself comfortable. Due to the length of the video I have had to split it into two parts as there are no free video content distribution services that would allow me to upload the entire thing. In fact YouTube only lets you upload video up to 10 minutes in length which I never realised until recently. I think I’ll be making the switch to Vimeo.
I will upload the remaining 20 minutes of this session next week when my weekly limit on Vimeo has reset itself. I could of course pay for the Vimeo Plus package which offers increased video lengths and sizes though unfortunately the TechHead budget won’t quite stretch to that at the moment.
I think you’ll find this ‘Ask the Expert’ session of much value as there were some really interesting and highly relevant questions raised and discussed. Enjoy!
