I was going to post this last week but thought I’d wait until many of you returned back to the world of work before doing so as who wants to think or talk about exams during the Christmas holiday?
Well, it’s good news for all of you that were thinking about upgrading your VMware VCP3 to the newer VCP4 certification but missed the 31st December 2009 dead-line due to the pre-Christmas madness. VMware have extended the deadline to the end of (31st) January 2010 giving you that little bit of extra time to sit the exam and thereby upgrade to a VCP 4.
Also, if you register to sit your exam before the 15th January you can enrol for the ‘2nd Shot Program’ which allows you to re-sit the VCP4 exam (before 31st January) in the event you should fail it the first time. Please note that you need to sign up for the 2nd shot program before sitting your first exam.
For more details of the VCP exam extension for existing VCPs and the 2nd shot program check out VMware’s Certification page here.
Just a reminder that to become a VMware VCP you must also attend a VMware authorised training class – sitting and passing the exam alone is only one half of the requirement.
Good luck to all of you sitting your VCP exam this coming year.
