Good Luck.

I extracted the copied files and it really doesn't make a differnce. The extraction process does not register any thing. Copying is really the same thing.

I checked the vpxd.log and it turned out it did not like the specific version of the file. So I gues after you re-run the wizard if it does not wok it is important to check the log. Thanks all for the posts!!!

Hi Ray,

I ended up expanding this post into a new one which include links to downloading the relevant sysprep files from MS.

It can be found here: http://www.techhead.co.uk/vmware-esx-deploy-template-wizard-and-ms-sysprep-guest-customization-grayed-out

VMDude has a good point about extracting the deploy.cab first. :)

Make sure that you extract the deploy.cab and not just copy it into the directories.

I have this same error after install of 2.5. I downloaded the latest deploy.cab from Microsoft and Still not Working. I restarted wizard, I also restated the Vceneter server. Still Not able to customize my VM's. Anything would be helpful.
