Guys can some one help?

I have a almost the same server at home and want to install VMWare I follow the same process as above including the boot order. But what ever boot order I try, or installing from USB I still receive the following:
'Operating System Cannot be Found'

Can anyone assist with this I am not new to VMWare but the only thing I can think of is I have burnt the ISO image to a CD-RW and the drive cannot read the disc. With ESXi 3.5 do you need to extract the iso image or can you install straight from the iso. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Regards

Great article Simon :-)

I have exactly the same hardware and still can't get it to see the 250Gb Sata. After reading down it looks like you only say 3.5 U3 is compatible.
Any idea where I can get a copy? I can't find legacy ESXi downloads on VMWares site only U5!!

Hi,

I have a ML1160 G6 with 8Gb / 2 x 250 Gb hard disk. I´ve created the RAID to see only "one drive" with +- 500 Gb.
I´d like to know 2 things:

1) The on-board RAID is still "bad" like the other comments here?

2) The installation of ESXi 4 doesn´t reconize the RAID. Only the 2 disks.

What should i do? I need the virtualizacion on this server.
