The fact that VMware ESX 3.5 update 2 (ESX 3.5u2) is the first hypervisor to be listed under Microsoft Server Virtualization Validation Program (SVVP) has been pretty well covered so far by others such as Scott Lowe and vinf.net though this blog posting is from the angle of the Microsoft Virtualization Team.
Nothing too exciting there though they do make reference to another 7 vendors who will potentially have their hypervisor’s pass the SVVP soon. These vendors being:
- Cisco Systems, Inc.
- Citrix Systems, Inc.
- Novell, Inc.
- Sun Microsystems
- Unisys Corp.
- Virtual Iron Software
- VMware, Inc.
This pretty much completes the set of the large players in the hypervisor arena.
