To Twitter or not to Twitter – that is the question?

General

I’ve been using Twitter for a little while now though to be honest not with any great regularity.  I think my approach to using Twitter until now was perhaps not what it should have been, as part of the reason for not using it regularly was that I found that I was inundated with too much Twitter noise. Tweets from people informing me that they were about to eat a sandwich or run for the bus just didn’t really do it for me…  Now for others I totally Vmware ESX Twitterappreciate that this would be fine and considered all part of the Twitter experience. ;)

I do however feel that maybe I am missing out (or missed the point) on the whole Twitter thing so I have decided to try and embrace Twitter again but this time only following those who are interested in similar things to myself (which was probably the whole point of Twitter in the first place – rather than my initial ‘scatter-gun’ approach to following others).   Now strangely enough those areas of interest include primarily Virtualization and IT in general (Hmmm, why do I now spell it the American way – has any other non-USA person found themselves doing this also?).Vmware ESX Twitter

I’ve brushed off and recharged the iPhone for making and following  Tweets on the move (I had re-boxed the iPhone with the intention of selling it on EBay and getting something Google Android based – though there isn’t much apart from the G1 phone being offered here in the UK at this stage).

Vmware ESX TwitterNow, all of this brings me onto a rather good blog posting offered by Alan over at Virtual-Al.  He has put together a list of Twitter’ers (is this actually a word? lol) who focus around the VMware side of things.  Check out his blog posting here for the list – he has even included a rather nifty PowerShell script that will automatically add the Twitter feeds to your account.

Another such list around the area of general Virtualization can be found here.

I can also be found on Twitter using the Twitter tag: Kiwi_Si

See you on Twitter!
