New VMware Community Recognition Programme Announced – vExpert.

General

A new community award programme was announced last night  by VMware called the VMware vExpert.  This title of recognition is given to those that have actively contributed to the VMware community and/or assisted in spreading the word of Virtualization over the past year both on and offline.  This could be through the form of blogs, forums, user groups, etc.

Potential recipients of this title can be nominated by others or in fact can nominate themselves through filling out this brief online nomination form.

The most obvious thing that will spring to many peoples mind is whether this is comparable to Microsoft’s MVP programme – VMware openly acknowledge that this comparison will be made and that the new vExpert community award was inspired by the likes of Microsoft’s MVP.

I think this is a great idea and will be a real incentive for others to become more actively involved in the VMware Community which can only be a good thing.

I was torn whether to put this in but realised that I don’t usually put the details required for the nomination form anywhere on my blog (ie: My name.  Mr TechHead probably wouldn’t get me far, lol).  So if anyone feels that they’d like to nominate me for my VMware ESX blog postings over the past year then please feel free.  :)

My details are:
