New Book: Maximum vSphere: Tips, How-Tos, and Best Practices for Working with VMware vSphere 4

VMware

Wow, it’s been a busy month here at TechHead.  I’ve been fortunate enough to have been invited to a couple of tech days (posts to follow) and have also been writing two chapters for Eric Siebert’s new vSphere book entitled Maximum vSphere: Tips, How-Tos, and Best Practices for Working with VMware vSphere 4”.  This has been a new and enjoyable experience for me and I am looking forward to seeing the final product when it is released towards the end of August.  I had read Eric’s previous VMware VI3 book, “VMware VI3 Implementation and Administration” which I found to be informative and a good all-round read, so to be able to contribute to his next book was most flattering, hard work though good  fun.  I now just hope that readers of the book enjoy reading it as much as I have writing my contribution to it.  :)   In case your wondering here’s an outline of the topics covered in the chapters:

A new exciting vSphere book - Maximum vSphere Book. Not that I'm biased in any way ;)1. Introduction to vSphere
2. ESX and ESXi Hosts
3. Virtual Machines
4. vCenter Server
5. Storage in vSphere
6. Networking in vSphere
7. Performance in vSphere
8. Backups in vSphere
9. vMotion and Storage vMotion
10. HA, DRS, DPM and Fault Tolerance
11. Management of vSphere
12. Installing vSphere
13. Upgrading to vSphere
14. Building Your Own vSphere lab

Things have started to quieten down a little which means that I will now have more time to dedicate to producing new posts for the site which I hope you will find interesting and worthwhile reading.  I have a huge list of blog post ideas which I have been keeping so watch this space over the coming weeks for fresh regular updates.  Lastly, apologies to those of you that have left comments on the site or the forum where I haven’t yet responded.  I will be going back over the recent comments now that I have time and responding, as I really appreciate the interaction and answering questions where needed with my TechHead readers.

Watch this space for new regular updates and as always your feedback, ideas and winning lottery number predictions are always welcome.  :)
