As always TechHead is happy to pass on details of a good IT deal to its readers and this one is no exception.
Servers Plus have come through again with a cracking deal on an HP Proliant ML115 G5 with 4GB and a USB stick containing VMWare ESXi 4. All this for £238.95 + VAT and delivery.
However as an exclusive offer to TechHead readers if you call them and mention ‘TechHead’ they will then give you FREE UK delivery! What nice people…
No need to go and out and buy anything else to get a decent ESX lab up and running in minutes. And before anyone asks, Yes the AMD Opteron (1354) in this ML115 G5 does support VMware Fault Tolerance (FT) within ESX (small print: appropriate ESX license required for this functionality).
Note: Servers Plus will also generally deliver to European countries – call them to check first.

It is a good deal
but mine didnt come with ESX, neither the memory or the USB stick was installed, it was still in the packaging. So i had to spend my time setting it up and downloading ESX. Also I used your link and they still charged P&P

Hi AndiC,
Thanks for the comment. I’m glad you found your USB stick with ESX on it. With regard to the free delivery you have to call them and mention you saw this offer on ‘TechHead’ to get this (see article).
If you did do this then and you still didn’t get the free delivery then I’d recommend you give them a call and I’m sure they’ll be able to sort this out for you.
Cheers,
Simon

Thanks for the reply
I must have misunderstood I thought you had a special link with a offer code attached.
Just to let you know I am all up and running and I am very happy with this set-up.
Thanks for the recommendation.
Cheers
Andi
