This is a gem of a VMware ESX related article that I came across (from a link in a forum posting) and just had to pass on. It is by Tom Sightler and entitled ‘Troubleshooting VMware ESX network performance’. It covers Tom’s experience in tracking down slower than expected network performance on one of his VMware ESX servers. It goes into a decent level of detail and makes for an interesting read.
It’s well worth the time to go and check it out as this may help shed some light on any such unexplained network performance issues with your ESX host both now or in the future.
