*** UPDATE 21st April 2009 ***
As expected VMware have announced vSphere ! Check out my blog posting here for more details – thanks.
For those of you that haven’t heard there is a VMware “event” at their Palo Alto HQ on the 21st April. This event will be held with their partners Intel and Cisco.
Now as you can imagine there is considerable speculation that this “event” will be to announce the much awaited vSphere product range. Many of the exciting new product features were revealed and shown at the recent VMworld Europe event though no release date was given.
I think it’s safe to assume that this will most likely be the release date of vSphere (aka ESX 4) or at the very least it will be a definite announcement of the actual release date. Which wouldn’t be too far behind the 21st April.
Below are a couple of articles also discussing the VMware “event”. In particular the article from Rick over at vmwaretips.com makes me think that this will be the actual release date rather than a release date announcement.
